One of the most striking phenomena in the post-war world is, without doubt, the decline of England and the dismantling of its Empire. It is becoming evident that Great Britain, having reached its zenith at the end of the Victorian era, began to decline following the First World War. This decline is now a clear fact, with England undoubtedly the smallest of the ‘Big Three’. One of the telling signs of this decline was the Labour victory.
The socialist organization that is being imposed on English society is characteristic of weary and exhausted peoples, who no longer have faith in themselves, who have lost their taste for risk and adventure, and whose alarmed concern is entirely focused on the maintenance and preservation of a vegetative existence. With such a spirit, the English people would never have conquered the Empire. The all-encompassing security of the Beveridge Plan betrays this lack of ‘élan’, this weariness, this desire for retirement. Socialism is the organization of ageing people.
A consequence of this, and in turn another alarming symptom of British decline, is the liquidation of the Empire, which is now taking place. Even now, regarding the British withdrawal from the East, particularly in relation to the Muslim peoples, Mr. Harold Laski has written an article criticizing Churchill; in it, demonstrating his more authentic British temperament, he expresses his dissatisfaction with the course of events.
Mr. Laski seeks to defend his party’s policy and argues that it is not right for Britain to maintain control over the Arab peoples. In this regard, the leader of the Labour Party puts forward a number of well-reasoned arguments. Never before have such ‘sages propos’ been heard from someone responsible for the destiny of a dominant nation. However, when the leaders of a dominant nation begin to think in this way, it is a sign that their dominance is about to come to an end.
Now, this is one of the most important steps towards the realization of the Muslim revolution, which is currently taking shape. Without the voluntary withdrawal of British control, Islam could never realize its dream of restoration. And the restoration of the Islamic empire, which British Labour policy will make possible, will signify the rebirth of the most ruthless [merciless] enemy of Christendom, which would certainly have destroyed it, had Christendom been destructible. Charlemagne, the Crusades, the Holy Roman Empire and St Pius V all fought against this enemy until they had reduced it to impotence. All the enemies of Christian civilization, from Luther to Mr. Harold Laski, were on his side.
What will become of the Missions when Mohammed has an empire stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean, spanning Africa and Asia? And yet, this incalculable evil will not be the worst of evils.
